In August 2025 the supreme court addresses the chronic issue of judicial vacancies, which has plagued the institution for years. The full strength of 34 judges including the Chief Justice of India is expected to have a positive impact on case disposal, reduce the pending cases, and allow for the more formation of larger constitution benches to hear the matters of significant constitutional importance. However, the volume of new cases filed annually, coupled with systematic issues with the lower judiciary. The full-strength achievement presents a critical opportunity to streamline court processes enhance judicial efficacy and uphold the constitutional mandate of delivering timely justice.
