INTRODUCTION
The supreme court, outscoring its role as an apex court of justice, ordered the doctors of AIIMS in Delhi to conduct check-ups of the students with disability. The reports will determine whether the students with disability are capable of studying medicine. This decision of the supreme court is a ray of hope to the qualified students who were denied admission due to their disability. This ensures that all the students with disability get equal chances in education to pursue their dreams.
BACKGROUND
This case involves the students who cleared their NEET exams but were declared unfit for the medical as they were suffering from certain disability. The medical board at a state-level institution declared that such disability made them unfit for this education.
The students approached the Supreme Court as the decision of the board was arbitrary. the students, even after making all the qualifications required to study in AIIMS, were declared ineligible. The students contended that they should not be denied the right to education only because of their disability, when there are disability quotas for the same.

RECENT DEVELOPMENT
The Supreme Court didn’t just rely only on the medical board’s opinion rather asked for evaluation to be done by AIIMS Delhi. this was done to ensure that there are unbiased decisions and there is equal opportunity for all to access right to education. The court has ordered for a fresh board of five experts to be constituted of which, one member shall be a specialist in locomotor disability and one member shall be neuro- physician. the assessment report is to be forward to the court in sealed cover before April 15.
The court further claimed that none of disability should prevent anyone from their right to education. This decision reflects the significant move towards recognizing the rights of the student
CONCLUSION
The decision orders the fresh evaluation leading to fairness in the decision for the o the inclusion in the medical course. This decision leads to not limiting the students’ ability to pursue their dream careers. This change will lead to lasting change on how the disabled could no more be stressed.
